Today is the great Independence Day. This day will be the source of inspiration for the realization of the rights of the Bengali nation. I pay my deep respects to the memory of all the martyrs who gave their lives in the great liberation war and I remember with deep respect the police personnel who sacrificed their lives for maintaining law and order at different times including the great liberation war. In the early hours of March 26, 1971, Bangabandhu called for independence. Responding to his call, members of the Bangladesh Police at Rajarbagh Police Lines formed the first armed resistance against the invading Pakistani forces. 1,262 members of Bangladesh Police sacrificed their lives in the war of liberation. Not only in the great liberation war, but also in the needs of the country and in various crises, the police members did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives.
Even after 51 years of independence, anti-independence activists are active in worshiping religion. Everyone should be aware of this religious capitalism. Despite being unprepared against the Pak army in the war of liberation, the first resistance was formed by the police force. Chittagong Range DIG Md Anwar Hossain BPM (Bar), PPM (Bar) said this while addressing a reception of the best children of the nation at the gymnasium premises on the occasion of Independence Day.
He added that even after 51 years of independence, anti-independence activists are still active in worshiping religion. Everyone should be aware of this religious capitalism. Police members of this generation need to know the true history of the liberation war. Otherwise they may fall into confusion. He called upon every policeman to capture the spirit of liberation war. We have to work for the welfare of the people inspired by the spirit of liberation war.
