25th February 2023, Saturday: IFIC Bank has been giving ‘Sahitya Puraskar’ to two writers in the two categories of contemplative and creative every year since 2011 with the slogan ‘IFIC Bank is a companion of creative and thoughtful literature’. In continuation of that, the 12th year of the award was completed on 25 February 2023 at the IFIC Tower in Paltan, capital Dhaka.
Journalist and writer Mashiul Alam for the book titled ‘Milk’ in creative category for 2020 and eminent poet and researcher Aminul Islam for book titled ‘Nazrul Sangeet : Banir Vaibhava’ in contemplative category for 2021 and writer Swakrit Noman for novel titled ‘Uzanbanshi’ in creative category. Received the IFIC Bank Literary Award. Each selected best writer is formally handed over Northern, Prize money of 5 (Five) Lakhs, Crest and Certificate. Mr. Salman F Rahman, MP, Honorable Chairman of IFIC Bank Limited and Adviser on Private Industry and Investment to Honorable Prime Minister, as Chief Guest, Professor Abdullah Abu Saeed, Founder of Vishwa Sahitya Center as Special Guest, Eminent Cultural Personality, Honorary World President of International Theater Institute Ramendu as Guest of Honor Majumdar, IFIC Bank Board of Directors Honorable Directors, Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Bank Mr. Shah A Sarwar, senior officers, eminent literary and cultural personalities, scholars and representatives of print and electronic media were present.
Due to the situation of covid-19, the official organization of 2018 and 2019 was not possible, the crest was also officially handed over to the authors of selected books of IFIC Bank Literary Award 2018 and 2019. Simultaneously, Ramendu Majumder, a distinguished cultural personality, was formally awarded the ‘IFIC Sanskarti Ratna Sammanna 2020’. In 2018, eminent writer and researcher Golam Murshid for the book ‘Bidrohi Ranaklant : Nazrul Jibini’ in the contemplative category and Imdadul Haque Milan, the eminent writer and literary man for the book ‘Mayanagar’ in the creative category and poet for the book ‘Bhasa Andonol : Teknaf to Tentulia’ in the contemplative category in 2019. , Essayist and Researcher Ahmed Rafiq and Poet, Writer-Literature Masroor Arefin for the book ‘August Absaya’ in creative category was formally awarded the Crest.
A selection panel, selection committee and jury consisting of eminent literary and literary critics selects the best two books from the creative and contemplative categories for the IFIC Bank Literary Awards every year. For the past one year, this event of formal recognition of writers and literary people has already been widely appreciated by poets, writers and readers and has gained special acceptance from all.
