The HSBC-Mayor-Cup School Badminton Tournament 2023 started with various ceremonies.

A civic initiative by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNC) and HSBC started with a school tournament featuring badminton stars.

The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Bangladesh (HSBC) has implemented the HSBC Mayor’s Cup Badminton-2023° under the initiative of DNCC and Bangladesh Badminton Federation Corporation. Students from different schools of Dhaka, Banani Kamal Artatuk have come to compete in this three-day tournament. This tournament will showcase the budding badminton stars of various schools in Bengali and English as well as provide an opportunity to compete in a friendly and joyful environment.

A total of 19 schools in Dhaka city are going to participate in this three-day tournament, which is open for the participation of school-students from ninth to twelfth grade. An opportunity for players to develop badminton and better people through a respectful attitude along with an open minded attitude and education

DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam said, “Badminton or any sport is very important to ensure physical development. Being involved in sports helps to shape the young generation as dual citizens and take an active role in building the society at the moment. DNCC feels proud to be a part of organizing this tournament.

“SSBC believes that sports is one of the tools to build society by empowering good health and well-being,” said Md. Mahbub ur Rahman, Seat, HSBC, Bangladesh. He urged, “We are delighted and proud to host the HSBC-Mayor’s Cup School Badminton-2023, to encourage future generations to come together and participate in sports.

The final match of the tournament will be held on February 25 at the same venue.
