Hathazari Upazila Administration is always active in protecting the mother fish and biodiversity of Haldar, one of the Bangabandhu Mats Heritage in Bangladesh. In continuation of this, raids were carried out at different points of Halda river today and about 3000 meters of illegal fence nets were seized. The operation started at 6 am at Nayahat Point in Garadwara Union and ended at Guman Mardan Union at 9 am.
IDF Fisheries Officer Rabbani, village police and volunteers took part in the operation led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Hathazari Md. Shahidul Alam from 6:00 am to 9:00 am on Thursday, March 31.
Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Shahidul Alam said that on the basis of secret information, about 3000 meters of net was recovered from Nayahat Point and Guman Mardan Union part of Garduara Union of Halda river. I hope everyone’s cooperation and awareness in the protection of Halda mother fish, dolphins and biodiversity.
Md. Shahidul Alam said that regular campaigns will be carried out to protect the mother-fish, dolphins and biodiversity of Halda river. Awareness is important to maintain the natural balance of Haldar. On behalf of the Upazila Administration, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all concerned including IDF Fisheries Officer Rabbani, Village Police and volunteers for their overall cooperation in the campaign.
