RAB-7, Chittagong has arrested a man on charges of making adulterated ghee without any ingredient in milk by conducting a raid in Chaktai area under Bakalia police station of Chittagong metropolis.
He was arrested during a raid at 9.30 pm on Thursday, February 18. The arrested accused Md. Sajjad (24) is the son of late Younus Miah of Jiri area under Patia police station of Chittagong district. At present, Gafur Villa is a tenant of Gafur Villa on Rajakhali Road under Bakalia Police Station.
Md. Nurul Abshar, Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7, said that the purpose of sale inside a godown in Chaktai area, Ward 35, Bakalia Police Station, Chittagong, is to make a mixture of adulterated and low quality toxic flavors, palm oil and dalder in an unhealthy environment. One person was arrested on the basis of such information. Later a large quantity of adulterated ghee was seized from inside the godown.
He said that during the preliminary interrogation, the accused was found to be making adulterated ghee without any milk component through the pump oil, Dalda, Ghee flavor inside the godown.
He further said that the accused was further informed during interrogation that they were illegally producing the said product with low quality material without the approval of BSTI. They also market ghee in the name of their company by making low quality ingredients in unhealthy environment. The arrested accused is being handed over to the concerned police station.
